Read this yesterday:
"Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe"
I think it's a rather lovely quote both because I believe it to be true and I love the word wander. If I get another tattoo it is entirely possible I will have that word worked in somehow. Or not; I may change my mind about that. What I won't change my mind about, however, is that the quote's author, Anatole France, was in possession of a truly terrific mustache.
I found this really cute book of reusable stickers that I thought we could use to decorate the truck console to be nice and festive as we're driving. Seeing as that will kind of be our home for the month of October I want it to be pretty (or at least entertaining). You can see our first effort.
Important things we did:
Saw both of our families for farewell shindigs
Found a way to pack all my shoes (thanks, Honey)
Drank the last of the vodka (tres important)
Tried on outfits for our snazzy dinner tomorrow night at Corton in NYC
Made the vital decision I did want my earmuffs to come with us to Cali
I learned to skydive (this is an obvious lie)
Matt hit one last golf ball into the mill pond - this is a practice swing, of course
We saw a butterfly while drinking our coffee and tea by the brook
Realized one of us might need to be more careful about putting their clothes on right side out
Drove around for an hour in the dark looking for one of those clothes donation boxes which turned out to be about a block from where we started looking
Now I am going to try and get a bit of shut eye - it seems the rest of the packing really will have to wait for morning. And then the journey begins . . .
Wish us luck!
